STIW is a dynamic form of Qigong that build inner strength, physical and mental power. This workout can within a time of regular exercise, transform a sedentary individual to a strong person. The exercises open flow between mind and body, and can thus also reduce anxiety and depression.
Our program contain physical and mental training of Bodhidharma Qigong, a very efficient way to achieve the strenght of a fighter. Even when we are not interested in fights it is a good training to get the endurance, determination, courage and strenght of a true fighter.
STIW Qigong is a method to develop internal power (Qi) . It contains efficient high advanced techniques associated with dynamic tension exercises. The five animals forms developing strenth and power symbolized by the Tiger, precision by the Crane, speed by the Leopard, flexbility by the Snake and the inteligence to combine all other animals power of the Dragon.
In history Bodhidharma Qigong trasformed out of shape in very poor physical conditions Chinese monks into healthy fearless warriors through his training form.
Some of the Qigong we see on the Internet today looks pretty boring, with slow gentle movements. Whereas real balance comes from polarity; soft and hard, slow and fast. If you are only making slow and gentle exercise, you use only one energy. We need to use the two antagonists to create balance and harmony. The soft and slow became famous among older people.
Bodhidharma was a member of the Indian Kshatriya warrior class and a master of staff fighting, developed a system of 18 dynamic tension exercises. These movements found their way into print in 550 A.D. as the Yi Jin Jing, or Changing Tendon and Washing Marrow Classic.
He was knowing as DaMo in China and Daruma Daishi in Japan. He emphasized physical training and meditation as a mean to achieve good health and mental balance.
“ The only reason I've come to China is to transmit these instantaneous teaching. I don't talk about precepts, devotions or ascetic practices such as immersing yourself in water and fire, treading a wheel of knives, eating one meal a day, or never lying down. These are fanatical, provisional teachings. Once you recognize your impermanence, miraculously aware of nature, yours is the mind of all wise men. ”
